He attended Johns Hopkins University Undergraduate, University of Nebraska College of Medicine for medical school, and University of Iowa Hospitals, Department of Dermatology for Residency. He was trained in hair transplantation in 1972, while a Dermatology Resident. Over the years, he invented many things which advanced the process of hair transplantation.
